ALBANY — Sheriff Craig D. Apple Sr. is not seeking reelection as county sheriff.
In a post on Facebook, Apple, a 58-year-old Democrat, said he had made “the difficult decision” not to seek a fifth term as the leader of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
“Thank you for placing your trust and confidence in me over the years and allowing me to live my dream job,” Apple wrote. “Together, we have accomplished so much. From strengthening public safety and building stronger relationships throughout our communities to creating programs that have changed lives, I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.”…
