Why Are The Skies So Hazy in the Capital Region?

If you woke up to some yellow looking skies in the Capital Region you aren’t alone and here’s why you’re seeing that. Wildfires in Canada once again have caused the air around New York State to to fill with smoke, some areas feeling it worse than others.

The fires in Canada really ramped up late Tuesday and thick smoke entered the atmosphere. That combined with the current heat and humidity is making it look particularly hazy around most of Upstate New York, not just the Capital Region.

Air Quality Advisory

While the air quality on the Capital Region isn’t as bad as some areas, we still have a moderate air quality advisory. Just use caution if you have breathing problems as the day goes on.
