Commissioner Roger Chapin Wants to Hear from District 3 Residents about Orlando’s Green Works Plan on July 30

College Park and District 3 residents will get a chance later this month to tell the City of Orlando what a greener, more resilient neighborhood should look like.

District 3 Commissioner Roger Chapin will host a Green Works Orlando plan update workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the College Park Neighborhood Center, 2393 Elizabeth Avenue.

The drop-in event will allow residents to meet city staff and weigh in on the next version of Orlando’s long-term sustainability plan. The city has not released a detailed agenda, but likely topics include tree canopy, flooding, recycling, clean energy, transportation, water and local food systems.

For College Park and the rest of District 3, that could mean conversations about mature trees, drainage, traffic, bike and pedestrian connections and how continued development affects neighborhood livability…
