JANESVILLE, Wis (WTVO) — John Carter, 57, will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday in a decades-old cold case involving the sexual assault of two teen girls, according to the Rock County District Attorney’s Office.
Officials said in December of 1999, Carter, then 30, held a 16-year-old girl at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Janesville mall and forced her to perform sexual acts on him.
A few months later, in February 2000, investigators said Carter kidnapped a different 16-year-old girl at gunpoint as she was leaving work at the Fox River mall and forced her to perform similar acts…
