East Greenbush, NY (WRGB) — In a unanimous vote Wednesday, the East Greenbush Town Board passed a six-month moritorium on all data center operations and development within the town.
The town board was already considering its own moritorium well before Governor Hochul announced a year-long moritorium on hyperscale data center permits. That moritorium pauses the development of data centers that would use 50 megawatts of power or more. East Greenbush’s moritorium pauses the development and operation of data centers altogether.
