Air quality in Massachusetts today
Skies may start more clear this morning and appear briefly brighter, but more plumes of smoke pollution will stream in, meaning unfortunately, the air quality will remain on the unhealthy side today. A vast majority of the smoke is expected to hover near the ground.
There are numerous air quality alerts across New England.
Tomorrow sees a reprieve from the smoke as the winds in the mid/upper atmosphere steer the plume farther south.
This is a temporary improvement, however.
How long will we see smoke in Boston?
We’ll continue tracking the smoke as long as the fires continue to burn. Since they’re not expected to be extinguished for a long time, smoke is likely to be in our forecast (at varying degrees) for weeks to come…
