KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — As reports of a multistate Cyclospora outbreak linked to contaminated produce continue to make headlines, local farmers in Knoxville say the food safety practices they’re using today are the same ones they’ve relied on long before the outbreak.
Vendors at the Market Square Farmers Market said some customers have started asking questions about produce safety, but they say growing and handling food safely has always been a priority.
“You eat healthy, you stay healthy,” said farmer Willard Brown.
