Pepsi National Battle of the Bands ends 11-year Houston run, moving to Arlington for 2027

HOUSTON – For the first time in several years, Houston will no longer serve as the home of one of the nation’s premier celebrations of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Organizers announced this week that the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands is relocating from Houston to the Dallas-Fort Worth area beginning in 2027, with the annual event set to take place during the weekend of Aug. 27 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The event had been held at NRG Stadium in Houston, drawing thousands of fans, alumni, students and marching band enthusiasts from across the country to celebrate HBCU culture through music, scholarship and community events.
