Friday
Balcones Heights Jazz Festival: The annual free smooth jazz concert returns with sax player Tom Braxton, a Lubbock native who recently released a new album titled “Flashback,” opening. Flatland Cavalry: On songs like “Missing You,” Lubbock band Flatland Cavalry captures a high lonesome sound that recalls the Marshall Tucker Band. Catch up with “Flatland Forever,” a 2025 celebration of the band’s first decade of making music.
