WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita veteran spent more than four decades with the Marine Corps — 21 years on active duty and another 23 as a civilian — and he was inside the Pentagon on 9/11.
Raymond “Jeff” Geoffroy was drafted into the Army but ended up joining the Marines in 1970. After becoming an infantry officer, he was sent to Camp Lejeune.
“I was stationed there for three years,” he said. “My wife and I, and our first child was born there, our son Ray.”
Geoffroy’s next stop was Okinawa, where he helped people evacuating from Vietnam…
