Motorcyclist killed in Parsons Avenue crash identified by police

Witnesses to a fatal accident July 15 on Columbus’ South Side said the motorcyclist who died was going around 100 mph, weaving in traffic and ran a red light just before colliding with an SUV, according to a Columbus police crash report.

Columbus police responded at around 6:22 p.m. to the 1700 block of Parsons Avenue at East Woodrow Avenue on a report of a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the motorcyclist – identified as Eric Kovach, 45, of the South Side – dead at the scene, police said.
