El Paso, Southern New Mexico at risk for flash flooding through weekend

El Paso and Southern New Mexico could experience heavy rainfall and isolated flash flooding heading into the weekend.

Up to an inch of rain is possible for the El Paso region from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, along with frequent lightning. While the risk is low, there’s also potential for flash flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
