6 drivers arrested on DWI charges over 2-week period

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Horizon City Police Department arrested six people on suspicion of driving while intoxicated between June 29 and July 11 as part of the department’s ongoing effort to remove impaired drivers from local roadways.

Police said the arrests underscore the department’s commitment to enforcing DWI laws and protecting the public. Officials also warned that drivers who refuse to provide a breath sample should expect officers to seek a search warrant for a blood draw when permitted by law.

Among the arrests was Damian Gabriel Olague, 24, who was stopped shortly after midnight on June 29 after an officer observed him speeding on Horizon Boulevard. Police said Olague showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol. He refused field sobriety tests and a breath test, prompting officers to obtain a search warrant for a blood sample. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond…
