(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A suspect in a robbery earlier in 2026 was arrested thanks to cooperation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Aurora law enforcement, who arrested the suspect on Wednesday, July 15, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
On July 1, CSPD Robbery Detectives asked for help from the Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force (VOFTF) with the arrest of three suspects who were involved in a robbery earlier in 2026 in Colorado Springs. One of the suspects was identified as Simon Botros by CSPD.
Botros was known to live in the Denver metro area but had connections in Colorado Springs, said CSPD. Detective Juan Estrada-Barrera was able to find a location for Botros in the Aurora area and requested help from the Denver FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force.
On Wednesday, the FBI, along with the Aurora Fugitive Apprehension and Surveillance Team (FAST) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), found Botros in Aurora and tried to arrest him. Botros tried to run away on foot, but was quickly apprehended after a short chase and a taser deployment…
