Hundreds attend outdoor concerts in Albany area, despite air quality

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Many people in the Capital Region headed outside for live music despite an air quality alert being in place on Thursday.

In its last event of the season, the Alive at Five summer concert series in Albany brought a packed crowd in front of the Washington Park Lakehouse in the city’s downtown, with some people enjoying the bands in the upper grass level.

With the bands The Nolanauts and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on stage, many concertgoers were enjoying the music, dancing and some people were even throwing around a frisbee in the grass area.

At the time the music was playing, an air quality alert was in effect, which included Albany, with the index being in the “unhealthy” range…
