A 37-year-old man was slashed in the face during rush hour Monday in front of 1652 University Avenue in the Bronx, and police are now asking the public to help find the attacker. The victim was left with facial injuries, and the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers unit has put out a wanted alert complete with surveillance stills of the suspect.
According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, the assault unfolded around 4:55 p.m. on July 13, when an unidentified individual approached the victim, showed a cutting instrument and slashed him across the face. The public bulletin urges anyone who may have captured video of the incident to hold onto it and share it with detectives. The assault happened outside 1652 University Avenue in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx. That address appears in borough property files, according to city building records, confirming the exact location.
