FREE Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event in Manatee County

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – If you’ve been cleaning out your garage, shed or storage room, this weekend is a great opportunity to safely dispose of items that don’t belong in your regular trash.

Manatee County is hosting a FREE Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronic Scrap (E-Scrap) disposal event on Saturday, July 18, at the Lena Road Landfill.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Lena Road Landfill, located at 3333 Lena Road in Bradenton, and is open to Manatee County residents only.

Residents can safely dispose of a variety of household hazardous materials and electronic waste, including:

  • Gasoline and diesel fuel
  • Motor oil
  • Paint, stains and varnishes
  • Batteries
  • Aerosol cans
  • Cleaning chemicals
  • Weed killers, pesticides and fertilizers
  • Propane tanks
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Electronics and other e-scrap

County officials remind residents not to place these items in their household garbage, as they can pose safety and environmental hazards and will not be collected with regular curbside trash…
