Last Friday, the owner of the Pizza Hut restaurant located at 525 W. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox reported a major theft. The owner, said they were notified by Pizza Hut’s corporate offices that approximately $10,000.00 was missing from the New Lenox location.
The owner questioned the store’s manager, 56-year old James Ballantine of Joliet, who confessed to taking the daily deposits for the store. Officers questioned Ballantine, and he said he had been taking cash from the store deposits for himself since February, 2026. Officers were able to obtain the deposit slips from that time frame and determined Ballantine took a total of $7,967.64 from the store…
