ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s one hit after another for an immigrant and refugee group in Albuquerque. They said break-ins and vandalism have gotten so bad in their office that they’re struggling to help anyone.

Cut-up fencing, frequent break-ins, blocked entrances, and a walkway covered in trash. That’s what New Mexico Women’s Global Pathways said it continues to deal with since moving into their building near Central and Louisiana back in 2018. “From the time we bought it, we were told this is not a safe place, but we bought it anyway,” said organizer of New Mexico Women’s Global Pathways Nkazi Sinandile.
The 20-year-old organization teaches immigrant women to speak English and sew. They make pillows and tote bags for the unhoused.
