SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A ceremonial groundbreaking was held on Friday for a $41 million project that will relocate a new train interchange.
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and Patriot Rail broke ground on a new train interchange that will relocate train switching from the main East Yard of Patriot Rail’s Salt Lake, Garfield and Western Railway (SLGW).
The new interchange will be located just south of I-80 and the Salt Lake City Airport, and officials state the move will decrease train movements in Poplar Grove, reducing crossing delays and the impact on the community and enhancing public safety…
