PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — It has been a hot and stormy Saturday with some folks seeing damaging winds and heavy downpours.
Several Piedmont Triad counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m. on Saturdayand some Triad counties have had Heat Advisories with heat indices of 106 to 107 degrees in some areas. Several counties are also under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
The chance for more storms will continue through the overnight, but they should be less intense as the sun goes down, and will be moving east and out of the Piedmont as a cold front pushes them along toward the coast…
