More than 6,200 homes are planned south of Austin after a massive master-planned community site changed hands, adding to the wave of large residential developments reshaping one of Central Texas’ fastest-growing regions.
The 1,736-acre development, known as The Ridge, was recently acquired by Wilson Capital from Walton Global, according to commercial real estate firm Newmark, which brokered the transaction.
Located near Niederwald, east of Kyle, the community will eventually include more than 6,200 single-family homes, a 13-acre amenity center and roughly 60 acres set aside for future commercial and multifamily development. The project sits near State Highway 21 and State Highway 130, providing access to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, downtown Austin, Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas and the growing manufacturing corridor in eastern Travis County…
