Columbus police seeks leads in 2025 Fourth of July fatal shooting at ‘pop-up’ party

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Fourth of July shooting from a year ago has police still searching for the person who killed one and injured several others.

According to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, officers arrived to the 800 block of Wilson Avenue in the Southern Orchards neighborhood, where multiple people had been shot at 2:41 a.m.

Five victims took themselves to area hospitals with gunshot wounds, and one person, 17-year-old Cameron Moore, was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. For a previous report on this story view the video player above.

Investigators learned that a large “pop-up” party formed at a VRBO property, with about 150-200 people in attendance. Video evidence taken from social media posts indicate that many party-goers were taking pictures, but authorities have yet to determine what led to the shooting…
