BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) — A Mobile teen is dead after a single-vessel marine incident in Mobile Bay near Point Clear, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
ALEA Marine Patrol Troopers said the incident happened around 7:55 p.m. Saturday, July 18, involving a 22-foot 2007 Boston Whaler operated by an 18-year-old. Troopers said the teen left the vessel, entered the water and did not resurface. Passengers on board took control of the boat and attempted to locate the teen.
Multiple agencies responded and began search operations. ALEA said the teen’s body was located around 9 a.m. Sunday, July 19, with recovery operations beginning immediately. The body was recovered at approximately 9:59 a.m. Sunday…
