BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Councilman Mitch Nowakowski is proposing a 21 plus only zone on Chippewa Street between Main and Delaware after 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, complete with barriers and ID checks. That proposal, now in the hands of the city’s legal team, is seeing strong support from the Chippewa Alliance, many business owners, and residents.
“It needs to be done. Plain and simple, it needs to be done. They need to start taking the business owners very seriously down here,” Tap House owner Dan Markovich said. “These are not bar problems … these are issues happening because kids want to come to the street and loiter and cause trouble.”
