Two dead, at least two missing after Scioto River emergency

DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) — Two women are dead and three men are missing Monday after an emergency along the Scioto River.

Police responded to Riverside Drive near O’Shaughnessy Reservoir Park shortly before 9:15 p.m. on Sunday on reports of an emergency along the Scioto River after a motorist noticed a young child who was “clearly distraught.” Police said two women were rescued and taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

On Monday morning, officials resumed a search for three men believed to have been in the water, Delaware County Sheriff Jeffrey Balzer said. Search efforts were expected to begin again between 9 and 10 a.m., a captain with the Concord Township Fire Department said.
