DOJ: Akron man sentenced to 12 years in prison for committing drug crimes while out on parole

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A Summit County man was sent back to prison Monday after committing drug offenses while on parole.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Darren Tibbets, 36, of Akron, was sentenced to a total of 144 months, or 12 years, in prison.

Tibbets received 24 months in prison, or two years, for being in violation of the terms of his supervised release after he was imprisoned for a previous drug conviction…
