L.A. deputies shoot pit bull to death to stop ‘vicious’ dog attack

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department shot a vicious pit bull to death as it was attacking a man at a Lancaster home Monday, authorities said.

Deputies were called to a dog attack on the 43200 block of 20th Street West at 9:53 a.m. The attack was still happening when deputies arrived.

“Deputies observed an adult male lying in the front yard of a residence while a pit bull was actively and viciously attacking him,” LASD said. “The victim appeared unresponsive and was trapped inside a fenced yard with a locked gate, preventing immediate access.”…
