Roanoke City Councilman Peter Volosin apologized Monday to colleague and fellow Democrat Phazhon Nash for a comment that Nash said he believes had “racial overtones.”
Volosin, during a regular meeting of the council, said he regretted the comment and that he understands “his words landed differently than he intended.”
Nash, who sits next to Volosin on the dais, made no comment regarding the apology, but the two shook hands. Nash was not immediately available for comment on Monday…
