Oregon City man dies in second Willamette River drowning

An Oregon City man died July 18 after drowning in the Willamette River near Black Canyon Campground outside Oakridge.

The man, identified as Justin Daniel Brudvig, 26, had been paddleboarding in the river without a lifejacket, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at about 3:20 p.m. after a caller reported his son had been pulled out of the water and was not breathing. People on the scene were actively performing CPR, which they continued to do until firefighters arrived…
