Rosie O’Donnell Returns to the U.S. with New Broadway Show and Shares Personal Transformations

Rosie O’Donnell is back stateside and preparing to launch her one-woman Broadway production, Common Knowledge. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the comedian and actress opened up about some significant personal changes, including her recent facelift and weight loss journey.

The Price of Rosie’s Facelift

While Rosie didn’t reveal the exact cost of her lower facelift, she gave an indication of the expense, saying, “It’s kind of expensive. It was more expensive than any car I’ve ever purchased.” She explained the motivation behind the procedure, attributing it to noticeable marionette lines that developed after losing weight on Mounjaro over three years.

Rosie also shared a candid anecdote about how her changed appearance prompted concern from friends in Ireland. “People were like, ‘Rosie, are you alright love?’

I’m like, why? ‘You look so sad.’

I’m like, ‘It’s not me, it’s my face,’” she told ET.

This isn’t the first time O’Donnell has addressed her facelift publicly. Back in May, she posted before-and-after photos on Instagram and discussed her decision in depth on her Substack newsletter.

She reflected on her previous strong opposition to facelifts-seeing them as a betrayal of feminism and the natural aging process-until she lost 50 pounds and reconsidered her stance. She also touched on body image and the lessons she hopes to impart to her child, Clay, emphasizing that her body shouldn’t be confined to any rigid ideals, even those of feminism.

Weight Loss with Mounjaro

O’Donnell also spoke about her weight loss, explaining how she has been using the GLP-1 medication Mounjaro for three years. Unlike many who increase their dosage quickly, Rosie has maintained a consistent dose for a full year at a time, following her doctor’s guidance for managing diabetes. This approach has helped her shed approximately 20 to 25 pounds annually, totaling around 60 pounds to date.

This transformation has brought practical benefits as well. Rosie shared, “Now I can buy clothes off the rack.

I don’t have to try everything on to see what fits. I know I have a size that works, that fits, and I feel so much better.

You know, I really do.”

In addition to her Broadway return, Rosie is set to guest host for Jimmy Kimmel this August, marking another exciting chapter in her diverse career.
