ASHBURN, Va. — An Ashburn homeowner says she is prepared to continue fighting after the Virginia State Corporation Commission denied a request to delay the Golden Mars transmission line project. That decision cleared the way for an 185-foot transmission line to be built behind Vicky Hu’s home.
Loudoun County, with the backing of Dominion Energy and Loudoun County Public Schools, submitted a request to the SCC asking for a pause on the project, to allow more time for discussions about possible alternatives.
In a two-page order stamped at 4:35 p.m., the State Corporation Commission declined to suspend its June 29 final order approving the route known as 3A, writing that continued delay “unreasonably jeopardizes” reliable electric service in the Commonwealth.
