Heads up, Boston! Today is a First Alert. We’re tracking a slow-moving cold front that will bring the threat of strong to severe storms across the Boston area this afternoon and evening.
Storms could produce damaging wind gusts along with periods of heavy rain, even during your evening commute. In fact, the heavy rain could produce localized flash flooding here and there. Remember, turn around, don’t drown. Find another route if standing water is in the road.
Timing out strong storms in Massachusetts
The threat for tornadoes is low for much of our area today, but we’ll keep you posted to any changes with the forecast. A few showers and storms could linger overnight until just before dawn on Wednesday.
Otherwise, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies on this Tuesday. Our skies could get a little hazy at times from the wildfire smoke in Canada, so keep that in mind. Expect high temperatures in the lower 80s. Overnight temps will be in the upper 60s.
A few additional storms could develop as the cold front crosses our region Wednesday afternoon and evening. The storms will be isolated at best. We can’t rule out a stronger storm or two with gusty winds and heavy rain. High temperatures will reach the mid 80s by afternoon…
