BUFFALO, N.Y. — 2 On Your Side heard last week from a spokesperson that the New York State Education Department was monitoring the situation with the Buffalo School District following the superintendent’s sudden resignation and the various sexual harassment allegations but Monday was the first chance to hear directly from the Governor on this subject.
Since state taxpayers provide the vast majority of the funding for the $1.4 billion City of Buffalo school district budget – estimated at over $900 million – we wanted to know how Governor Hochul viewed the district’s issues with the various accusations and investigations and of course even its projected $80 million structural deficit.
