ANGIER, NC — One person was killed and another was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Harnett County early Wednesday, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Troopers said the wreck happened off NC-55 near Angier on Oak Grove Church Road.
The vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder, ended up overturned on the side of the road. Investigators said both people inside were not wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the SUV.
How It Happened
Troopers said the Pathfinder was heading northbound on Oak Grove Church Road when the driver crossed the center line, left the roadway and struck a mailbox. After that, the driver overcorrected and the vehicle rolled over multiple times.
The crash left the SUV badly damaged and blocking part of the roadway while crews worked the scene.
