Portions of Central Ohio have a level 3 out of 5 enhanced risk of severe weather Tuesday.
This morning’s rain and thunderstorms are pushing southeast across the area, bringing gusty winds, lightning, downpours, and some small hail. Most thunderstorms in the morning will not reach severe thunderstorm criteria, but they will still be impactful.
Heading into the afternoon and evening, as thunderstorms sink south and east, there is a higher chance for severe weather.
Damaging wind gusts are the primary concern today. Hail is also a concern. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Downpours could lead to some localized areas of flash flooding this afternoon or evening, especially for areas south and east of Columbus.
Temperatures today warm into the mid 80s. It will feel sticky. Rain and thunderstorms end late tonight, with mostly cloudy skies through the overnight.
