Restaurant roundup: Nokomis House in Minneapolis, Official Fried Chicken expansion

The space of the short-lived Stonegarden restaurant in South Minneapolis will be backfilled by Nokomis House, which will serve Americana fare.

The restaurant, at 5401 Chicago Ave., is from the team behind La Tapatia in Roseville and La Madre in downtown Minneapolis.

  • This one won’t serve Mexican food, but there will be Mexican twists on the menu, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
  • Expect an August opening.

🍻The restaurant group that bought the former Wild Mind Artisan Ales in South Minneapolis was issued a city permit to remodel the brewery into a restaurant with a full kitchen and bar.

  • A company spokesperson said the brewpub will open next year.

🍕 Giordano’s is now open in Mall of America, which is the Chicago deep dish pizzeria’s second Twin Cities location. (It would have been the third if not for the closure of the Uptown restaurant in 2020)…
