MINNEAPOLIS — After two mass shootings in south Minneapolis left one person dead and more than a dozen injured, violence prevention groups such as T.O.U.C.H. Outreach immediately went to work Monday morning.
Ayantu Gemeda-Layeni, a project manager at T.O.U.C.H, said she dispatched her teams to do follow-up work and provide direct community support wherever needed. The first shooting happened early Sunday morning outside of a crowded nightclub in Uptown, while the second occurred a few miles away, just south of Loring Park outside of a business on Nicollet Avenue.
Minneapolis Police do not believe the shootings are connected, but they are notable in that they both occurred in busy commercial districts of the city…
