Teen arrested after allegedly stabbing three show horses at Las Vegas rodeo

In a bizarre turn of events in Las Vegas, Nevada, a teenage girl was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing three show horses at a weekend rodeo on May 30. The Nevada city’s police department arrested the girl on Saturday at the National Barrel Horse Association supershow, an event that hosts riders at the South Point Equestrian Arena on the Las Vegas Strip. The 17-year-old was described by the authorities as a “crazy and obsessed stalker,” as per ABC News.

The teenager was waiting for a chance to stab the horses

She was apparently waiting in the barn to injure the animals, as mentioned by one of the horses’ owners.  Arielle Phillips, the owner and rider of one of the injured horses named Detail, told the authorities that the perpetrator had been following her on social media for a while and had managed to meet the horse and its owner for the first time.

“Last night at 11 p.m. I was sitting with Detail at her stall for an hour,” Phillips mentioned in a poston her personal Facebook page on Sunday. “This girl came by twice trying to make conversation and ask weird questions. She had no business hanging out in the barn.”

She continued about how the attack was captured in the security camera that was installed in the stable and the time when the teenager entered the space. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released a statement, revealing the suspect’s weapon of choice was a “sharp object”. Two other horses in the vicinity were identified as Rocket and Saaul Good, nicknamed Sully.

The incident was captured in the security camera footage

“The teen had access to the barn, and investigators believe she may have used a knife to inflict multiple injuries to the horses,” the statement mentioned. “While the injuries are not considered life-threatening, they are expected to prevent the horses from competing.”…
