Buford’s Fyrone Davis was named this week as the Georgia Girls Track and Field Coach of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Davis, head coach of the Buford girls and boys track and field programs, also was the Daily Post’s Girls Coach of the Year in 2026 after leading the Wolves to the Class AAAAAA state championship. His team dominated the meet with 80.8 points, well ahead of runner-up Marietta (58) and third-place Walton (51), and improved on a state runner-up finish from 2025.
