Police handed out 482 tickets on Thursday, July 16, according to My Fox 8. The crackdown targeted speeders and reckless drivers across Cumberland County as part of Safe Driver Week.
Seven groups joined forces for the operation. They covered every corner of the county, including Fort Bragg. The sheriff’s office worked alongside the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Police from Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Hope Mills, Stedman, Spring Lake, and Fayetteville State University all took part, according to a news release obtained by My Fox 8.
Speeding made up most of the violations. Officers wrote a whopping 283 speeding tickets out of 482 total citations. They also caught drivers for reckless driving, driving without a license, lacking insurance, ignoring seat belt laws, and failing to move over in construction zones…
