“I would not wish this on my worst enemy.” Arkansan recounts experience with cyclosporiasis illness

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Arkansas Department of Health reports 36 cases of cyclosporiasis in the state so far this year; 26 more cases than were reported just last week.

Cyclospora is a parasite that causes the intestinal illness cyclosporiasis. Health officials said the outbreak is affecting multiple states, with more than 1,000 cases reported nationwide so far this year.
