FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Right now, Arkansas currently boasts a total of 36 Safe Haven Baby Boxes, with a 37th on the way. These boxes serve as a last resort for parents in crisis.
On Wednesday, July 22, a Safe Haven Baby Box dedication will be held at 10 a.m. at North Little Rock Central Fire Station, located at 1301 Main St., North Little Rock.
The new surrender location marks the 459th Safe Haven Baby Box in the nation and the 37th in Arkansas, expanding access to safe, anonymous surrender options for parents in crisis, Arkansas Right to Life said in a Tuesday release.

A parent who does not want an infant or who is unable to care for an infant can give up custody of a baby 30 days old or younger, legally and anonymously, Arkansas Department of Human Services said.
