TULSA, Okla. – EMSA issued its second Medical Heat Alert of 2026 on Tuesday after paramedics responded to a spike in heat-related illness calls in the Tulsa area on Monday.
Medics responded to seven suspected heat-related illness calls and transported three patients to local hospitals Monday. The agency issues a Medical Heat Alert when paramedics respond to five or more heat-related illness calls within a 24-hour period.
The alert comes as prolonged extreme heat is expected to continue across northeastern Oklahoma through the coming week. EMSA is urging residents to use extra caution if they plan to spend more than 30 minutes outdoors…
