Tulsa Police arrest man after alleged DUI standoff

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Police arrested a man Sunday after officers said he refused repeated commands during a suspected DUI investigation near 15th Street and Lewis Avenue.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a man passed out behind the wheel of a truck. When they arrived, they contacted 42-year-old Jerrod McDonald, who was at least partially awake.

Police said McDonald had his window rolled down and was playing loud music. Officers asked him to turn the music down and step out of the truck.

Instead, investigators said McDonald turned the music up louder, sang along and took a drink from a glass in the truck’s center console. As more officers arrived, police said McDonald shifted the truck into drive but did not move…
