Woman Killed, Passenger Injured in Fayetteville Single-Vehicle Crash on Raeford Road Near I-295 Ramp

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — A late-night wreck on Raeford Road in Fayetteville left one woman dead and another person injured after a single vehicle crashed near the Interstate 295 south entrance ramp. Police said officers were called to the scene just before midnight Friday.

Investigators said the driver was headed east on Raeford Road in a 2013 Dodge Charger when the car was speeding and failed to complete a right turn onto the ramp. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger was taken to the hospital.

What Police Said

Authorities identified the driver as 36-year-old Tyronesha Shanae Sherlock-Benton of Fayetteville. Police said she died at the crash site.

The passenger was identified as 26-year-old Mikayla Love Langhirt. Officials said she was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.
