MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Construction on Liberty Park at the former Fairgrounds is on hold, city officials said Tuesday, as Memphis pays millions in debt service and infrastructure work on the project.
Now, some city council leaders are asking whether it is time to make changes to get Liberty Park moving again.
“We are now two years in. I’m country, so we say, ‘fish or cut bait’,” said Councilwoman Jerri Green, who added the discussion to the council’s agenda. “Is this something we’re going to be talking about for the next two years, or are we actually going to get something done?”
