San José police say a violent April 25 attack inside a city residence has now led to the arrest of 27-year-old Stevenson Tuimavave, who was taken into custody last Wednesday on a gang-related assault with a deadly weapon charge. Investigators allege Tuimavave was part of a group involved in the home attack that left the victim with significant facial injuries after one suspect struck him with the handle of a firearm.
Investigation and arrest
According to the San José Police Department, detectives with the Gang Investigations Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Tuimavave and a search warrant for his associated residence, then served both last Wednesday. During the warrant service, detectives reported finding two firearms, multiple rounds of ammunition, gang indicia, and various illegal fireworks, and they arrested Tuimavave that same day. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on case number 26-115-0728.
