Tracking rain chances, flash flooding potential

TODAY: We’re tracking scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Pikes Peak Region this afternoon and evening bringing periods of heavy rainfall. Our biggest concerns are localized flash flooding (especially along burn scars) and erratic, gusty winds up to 50 MPH. Highs stay similar to Tuesday, topping off in the low 90s in Colorado Springs and high 90s in Pueblo.

EXTENDED: Storm chances increase Thursday with widespread heavy rainfall possible in the afternoon and evening. PM showers and storms stick around through the weekend. Highs stay fairly consistent in the high 80s/low 90s in the Springs and mid to high 90s in Pueblo.
