Columbia River Highway closed due to deep hole in the road

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Historic Columbia River Highway is closed Wednesday due to a hole in the road, officials said.

The Oregon Department of Transportation shared on X that the hole, which is just under 7 feet deep, is affecting both lanes between the Horsetail Falls and Oneonta trailheads.

Currently, ODOT said there isn’t an estimate for when the road will reopen, but it could take most of the day to fill the hole with concrete before they can repave.

Stay with KOIN 6 as we continue to follow this closure.
